The study of music leads to the acquisition of individual competences to a special degree. The focus is on the development of the artistic personality in its diversity. Therefore, the study programmes and fields of study at the MHL contain diverse profile modules and free elective elements that can be individually combined. The MHL informs about the possibilities in counselling interviews. For this purpose, it offers both prospective students and students the following assistance:

• General Study Guidance
  In a personal interview, questions about the study programmes and offers of the MHL are answered. Before the interview, a look at the study programmes is obligatory.

• Individual Student Counselling
  Individual student counselling is the responsibility of the Director of Studies. This university body brings together all directors of studies who, in addition to the main subject lecturers, assist students in all questions concerning their individual course of study. This includes explaining the profile and other options provided in the curriculum as well as processing applications (for example, for crediting externally acquired competences or postponing academic achievements). The directors of studies regularly invite the students to obligatory counselling interviews and are available for questions and problems.
